Number in Bahasa
How can I telling Number in Bahasa?
Okay. This is the very very very basic thing when you want
to learn another language! I bet you’ll use numbers million times in a day. In
a single day!
So here we are. I’ll give you some vocabularies we need for
saying Numbers in Bahasa! Here we are, the SATUAN
part.
One - satu (sa-tu)
Two – dua (du-a)
Three – tiga (ti-ga)
Four – empat (em-pat)
Five – lima (li-ma)
Six – enam (e-nam)
seven – tujuh (tu-juh)
eight – delapan (de-la-pan)
nine – sembilan (sem-bi-lan)
ten – sepuluh
Please,
master the ten number first! Okay, Practice! Saaa-tuuu, Duuu-aaaa, Tiiii-gaaa….
Tuuu-juuuh. Deee-laaa-paaan. Seeem-biiii-laaaan.
Seee-puuu-luuuh. Okay. I’ll take it as you already memories it.
Next.
It’s BELAS PART. See we always put BELAS in the end, when we want to say number
between 11-19. See!
Eleven – sebelas (se-be-las)
twelve – duabelas
(du-a-be-las)
thirteen – tigabelas
(ti-ga-be-las)
Fourteen – empatbelas
(em-pat-be-las) How about 17? Right. Tujuhbelas.
Nineteen? Sembilan belas. You got
it?
What? (O.O)
Okay. You ain’t get it?
It’s okay. I’ll give you some tips. Here we are. When you
want to say the ‘BELASAN’ part, actually, you just need put the satuan number
first at the end of the number . For example 18, see the end of the number.
Right. 8. What’s 8 In bahasa? Delapan! Right. So you just need to say DELAPAN –
(and put the word belas at the end) BELAS. So it’s DELAPAN BELAS.
Okay. I’ll consider that you already understand about
BELASAN. (Belas-an). Then let’s move to PULUHAN (puluh-an). Puluhan means, it’s
the multiple of ten. So we got several numbers here :
Ten – sepuluh (se-pu-luh)
Twenty – dua puluh (du-a pu-luh)
Thirty – tiga puluh (ti-ga pu-luh)
Fourty – empat puluh (em-pat pu-luh)
Fifty – lima puluh (li-ma pu-luh)
sixty – enam puluh (e-nam pu-luh)
Seventy – tujuh puluh (tu-juh pu-luh)
Eighty – delapan puluh (de-la-pan pu-luh)
Ninety – sembilan puluh (sem-bi-lan pu-luh)
In PULUHAN case, you just need to read the way they were.
For example 80 . What is the first digit? Right! 8 . In bahasa, DELAPAN. So 80?
Delapan puluh. You just need add the PULUH part at the end.
How about 72? Okay, you just need read it the way it was. 72
– tujuh puluh dua. How about 23? Dua puluh tiga. How about 92? Sembilan puluh
dua. Yup! You got it right.
Don’t worry if you feelin like “I still ain’t got it”. Don’t
worry! Indonesian always put it in the simple way. Or lemme say it’s kind of
slang. In our normal way of speaking, I mean, in our informal way of speaking, we often miss the Puluh part. For example : 94
– sembilan empat. 22 – dua-dua. 43 – empat tiga. It’s interesting, isn’t it!?
Okay. Move to another part. We still have several thing to
discuss. Take a look at this new vocabularies bellow :
hundred RATUS
one hundred seratus
two hundred dua ratus
two hundred thirteen dua ratus tiga belas
two hundred twenty two dua
ratus dua puluh dua
one thousand SERIBU
two thousand dua ribu
four thousand three hundred fifty empat ribu tiga
ratus lima puluh
five thousand six hundred fourty five lima ribu enam ratus empat puluh lima
ninety seven thousand sembilan puluh tujuh ribu
million JUTA
one million satu juta
two million five hundred sixty thousand ? dua
juta lima ratus enam puluh ribu
eight million four hundred fifty seven thousand? delapan juta empat ratus lima puluh tujuh
ribu
one hundred million seratus juta
five hundred million lima ratus juta
nine hundred thirty five million sembilan ratus tiga puluh
lima juta
Okay.
How about 1984?
Well, you can say, seribu
sembilan ratus delapan puluh empat. But in case, somebody ask for your
birthday. I mean the year when you are born and you was born in November 1994
for example, you can only say 94 (sembilan empat/ rarely we say, sembilan puluh
empat). Take attention to this convertation below :
A : “Mas Briant, kelahiran tahun berapa ?” (Mr. Briant, when
is the year your birthday?)
B : “Tahun sembilan satu (91)”
Note this one. As long as some Indonesian ask for your
birthday year, and you are born in 1900era … you just need to say the last two
digit at the ending of the year. For example, My sister was born in 9 September
1997 .. she just need to answer “9 september 97”. We barely say in complete way
when we talk about year.
Okay. I think that’s all for me. Thanks for comin and read
my article! Please subsribe and ask for question if you want to! I’m Victoria.
Nice to meet you J
