Bandung's Top Secret!

Hello there!

Where is your next trip destination? Bandung? Bandung? Really? You shoulda know about Bandung, then! J

Actually, as you already knew or not, I’m a mojang Bandung! (mojang = Bandung’s girl) So, I’m pretty sure that I know million things about Bandung! Let’s count it on! 

1.      

1. Talk 80% Sundanese, 20% Bahasa

Okay. Even tho~~ I was born in Bandung, live my life in Bandung for 21 years, but still I cannot talk properly in Sundanese. For heaven’s sake, Sundanese is damn difficult! Believe me!

I knew how to talk in English, Korean, Chinese but still I cannot talk in Sundanese properly (Even tho~ I’m understood what they talked about) :D

Sundanese people tend to talk in Sundanese. They barely talk in Bahasa.  But of course they’ll understand if you talked in Bahasa . In English? Errr~~ not sure.

2.      Gareulis!

Hell yes! LOL

What is “gareulis” ? Gareulis is sundanese way to say the girls are damn beautiful !

Beautiful is geulis, while when you want to say that all women in Bandung is beautiful, say “Mojang Bandung, gareulis euy!”

Note : mojang (woman/girl) , gareulis ( beautiful – it’s supposed more than one beautiful girls) , euy ( it just addition, so you will sounds more sundanese)

You don’t believe it? Try come to Bandung and see how many beautiful girls in Bandung J

Bandung, who populated by sundanese have some habits in consume food. Like Korean, Sundanese tend to love eat  uncooked vegetable. Uncooked vegetables, they call it as Karedok (similar with Salad? Not sure about that, but still it uncooked vegetables) >_<

May be because that habit to consume uncooked vegetables, mojang Bandung famous for they beauties!

3.      Paris van Java

Have you ever heard Bandung is a Paris Van Java?

Hey! Bandung is truly Paris in Java!

Bandung known as heaven for those who want to shop. Bandung got so many place to shop,  such as :

·        Pasar Baru

I found Malaysian love to shop in Pasar Baru. It’s cheap and the newest fashion in Bandung. I recommend this place for sure!

·        TSM (Trans Studio Mall)

Ok, it’s not cheap at all. You’ll found branded things here with branded price :D

·        Cihampelas

Cihampelas + Ciwalk +  Paris van Java = one place

Bandung rich kid, artist, and all over tourist loves to play here. Cihampelas is place where the Paris van Java (PVJ – for short) or Ciwalk is. Make sure to come here, found branded things, and loves Bandung.

·        Cimol

Have you ever heard Cimol? This place kinda famous to Sundanese. It’s Branded product, it’s damn cheap,and it’s Cimol. You can found so many thing you need for your fashion, in a cheap price and branded product. But I shoulda tell you it’s second hand product!

4.       F=V=P

This is the most important fact that you shoulda know about Sundanese!

Ok! Good!

But for sundanese, it’s sound the same!! LOL

Their often mistakes :

V = P

Z = J

It’s funny right?

5.      Bandung = 1000 Angkot City

Do you know the meaning of ‘Angkot’ ?

Angkot is a public transportation. When you wanna go with public transportation, the first choice that come first into Indonesian’ mind mostly Angkot. No matter what is your class of society, it’s common public transportation for all over city in Indonesia.

But In Bandung, we have different case. Angkot in Bandung, not only million but also colorful! Each color refers to some route. One angkot can carry from one until 18 people in one way. The price depend on how far is your destination. The funny fact, when you already achieve your destination and you wanna get out from the angkot, you shoulda say “ KIRI~~~” . As long as I lived in Bandung, I wonder why people don’t say “Kanan!” . LOL

Noted : Kiri  in english means left. Kanan means right. (it’s talk about direction)
