I’m sure this is the basic thing to do for you who want to learn bahasa Indonesia J . Without knowing the alphabet , you’ll ain’t know how to pronounce million vocabularies in bahasa Indonesia. Okay, let see!

Indonesian Alphabet

Aa  /a/ : A as in Ayam

Bb  /be/ : B as in Bebek

Cc /ce/:  C as in Cetak .

Dd /de/ : D as in Dengan

Ee /e/ : E as in Eropa

Ff /ef/ : F as in Falsafah

Gg/ge/ : G as in Gajah

Hh /haa/: H as in Hari

Ii /i/ : I as in Indonesia

Jj / je/ : J as in Jual

Kk /ka/ : K as in Kakak

Ll /el/ : L as in Luka

Mm /em/ : M as in Makan

Nn /en/ : N as in Nonton

Oo /o/ : O as in Oke

Pp /pe/ : P as in Pelajaran

Qq /qyu/ : Q as in Q

Rr /er/ : R as in Raja

Ss /es/: S as in Suka

Tt /te/ : T as in Teriak

Uu /u/ : U as in ujian

Vv /ve/ : V as in Visi

Ww /we/ : W as in wilayah

Xx /x/ : X as in X 

Yy /ye/ : Y as in Yakin

Zz /zet/ : Z as in Zebra

Notes

·        There are four digraphs: ng (eng), ny (nye), kh (kha) and sy (sya). The final two only appear in words of Arabic origin.

·        The vowels e and o are pronounced [ɛ] and [ɔ] in closed final syllables.

·        ai and au are pronounced [aɪ̯] and [aʊ̯] in final position and as separated vowels, [a.i] and [a.u], elsewhere.

                  ·        The letter 'X' , Indonesian didn't have a original word start with the letter X. 

·        The letters q, v, x, and z are used in loanwords from Europe and India.
