That’s the vocabularies of how to say the month in bahasa Indonesia. It’s really similar with the english version of saying month isn’t it? Cool! Now, you already got 12 new vocabularies!
One more thing. If you want to use the name of the month, please begin it with the word ‘BULAN’. Yes, bulan for the definition of moon in english. Indonesian tend to say bulan desember, bulan januari, bulan maret, etc.
To talk about past and future months, the name of the month is followed by yang lalu (last) and yang akan datang (next). The useful phrase yang lalu means literally “what has gone / passed by” but it can be better translated “…ago”. For example :
bulan Juni yang lalu : last June
bulan November yang akan datang : next November
If you are talking about “next …. ” (the month or week after the current one) without citing its name, you can also say:
bulan yang akan datang : next month
bulan depan : next month
minggu yang akan datang : next week
minggu depan : next week
bulan yang lalu : last month
Okay. I think that’s all thing you shoulda know! Still have difficulities to name the month? Please feel free to comment bellow!
Have a nice day! :)
